Christmas at Magic Kingdom 2020: Pure Magic

What happens when you visit the happiest place on earth during the most wonderful time of the year? Pure magic, that’s what! It’s officially holiday time at Walt Disney World, and I. Am. Here. For. It.

There is a lot going on in the world right now, but once you arrive at Disney World the positivity and joy takes over. There is no way to describe the feeling of being at Disney World other than magical. You are transported to a land of kindness and love, where people are enjoying quality time with loved ones and making memories to last a lifetime.

Now, time to sprinkle pixie dust on Christmas…. I shed tears, literally, when entering the park. All of your senses are on high alert with the smell and taste of the festive food, the sound of the holiday music and children laughing, the sight of Main Street decked out, and the feel of your children grabbing your hand when a cavalcade with their favorite character comes around the corner.

I was worried I wouldn’t know when the cavalcades were happening, but the music in the park changes to alert you. They also happen quite frequently, so you if you missed one there is a good chance you will be able to see it another time. They start in Frontierland by Splash Mountain so keep a lookout! All the characters are in beautiful holiday dress that only Disney could dream up.

Let’s talk food – every holiday season Disney adds some festive food options. I indulged in the Pistachio Chai Tea Float, pistachio ice cream on top of chai tea with a red velvet cake pop. Separately the tastes are mild yet delicious, together it is wonderful. This float brought some extra holiday cheer to our visit! We also saw some churros topped with marshmallow fluff but sadly they were out of churros when we tried to order (get one when you go and tell me how it is!!). We had dinner at the Plaza which was a perfect spot to watch the castle change colors!

Now on to the rides… Disney World currently does not have fast passes but we rode more on this trip than any previous visit. Lines move fairly quickly right now with limited park capacity, and distancing is easy to do with clearly marked lines on the ground. We had a blast – the highlight was my girls screaming with glee on Barnstormer (which we road twice!).

Disney World never fails to awe and amaze, and this season is no different. We stayed at Magic Kingdom from open to close (go big or go home!) and made countless memories. It was our first time during Christmas season and I cannot wait to visit again! Face masks are required for guests aged 2 and older, and both my 3 and 5 year old wore them for 12+ hours without complaint. We wore the breathable Disney masks – I highly recommend letting your kiddos pick their favorite characters. Also – they have some beautiful new holiday apparel for everyone, I can never have too much Disney gear 🙂

Simply put, our day at Magic Kingdom was like a dream. There is almost too much to see and do, which is fine with me, because there’s always next Christmas! Let me know some of your favorite holiday moments at Disney World below!
